WFTU in solidarity with the people of Mozambique

The World Federation of Trade Unions, gathering in its ranks 105 million workers in 132 countries around the globe, extends its solidarity to the workers and ordinary people of Mozambique, heavily affected by the recent cyclone Eloise that caused the death of 6 persons and the displacement of 7.000 whose houses were destroyed and are now homeless. Schools, infrastructure and plantations are also destroyed to big extent in the region of the city Beira, which was hit again by the Cyclone Idai in 2019. Zimbabwe, Madagascar and Swaziland were also affected while the Cyclone Eloise moves towards South Africa and Botswana. We stand by the side of all workers and poor people of Mozambique and counties of Southern Africa, conveying our sincere condolences to the families of the victims.
