Cleaner, safer, connected communities We need to make sure that people can travel for work within or near their local community, comfortably and affordably. That will reduce combat carbon emissions and help our communities to survive and thrive. The need to end the routine whereby large numbers of commuters crowd the M4, the A55, the A48 and the A470 every morning and evening must be brought to an end. It is wasteful and unsustainable. The long commute by private car must be consigned to the history books, replaced by efficient public transport. The Covid emergency has shown that many service jobs can be carried out from home for much of the time. We need schemes funded by the public and private sectors to make this happen, supported by the roll-out of superfast broadband to all our local communities.
