Today, on August 31, on the third anniversary of the assassination of the First Head of the Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko (1976 — 2018), in the Alley of Heroes in Donetsk, there was held a memorial assembly attended by members of the People’s Council, state officials, members of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement and concerned city residents. According to a correspondent of the DPR Official Website, the incumbent Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, addressed the assembly. “Alexander Zakharchenko shouldered responsibility at the gravest and crucial moment in history. When the coup d’état took place in 2014, when all regional authorities and local elites fled, ordinary residents had to take up arms to protect Donbass from the neo-Nazis and the arbitrariness of the Kiev authorities. Alexander Vladimirovich was among the first to start fighting for the freedom of Donbass. We remember him as an approachable man of the people, who was seeking justice. This is exactly why he rightfully earned the respect of the Donetsk People’s Republic residents and this is what he will be remembered for forever. He dreamed of a prosperous Donbass. He dreamed of several things, and this was clearly manifested in his actions. He wanted to defeat the aggressor and he longed for Russia with his heart and soul. We owe it to the memory of the First Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic to further his cause. Making this dream come true will be the best tribute to Alexander Vladimirovich Zakharchenko,” Denis Pushilin said. His parents, Vladimir and Tamara Zakharchenko, addressed words of appreciation to all those who came to honor the memory of the First Head of the Republic. The assembly participants laid flowers at the bust of Alexander Zakharchenko on the Alley of Heroes.  The post We owe it to First Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko to further his cause — Denis Pushilin first appeared on DPR Official site.
