General warning strike in Morocco on 20 June 2022

The Democratic Labour Organization (ODT), an affiliated member of the WFTU, together with other trade unions, they are calling upon the Moroccan working class to go on a general strike on June 20th against worsening living and working conditions in Morocco.

The working class in the sectors of public administration, public institutions, agriculture, transport, and logistics goes on strike to warn the government not to pursue the theft policy of workers’ income with frequent increases in the prices of essential living goods, fuel, and vital food items such as (flour, sugar, cooking oil, etc.), and to claim their right to a dignified life.

The strike was called upon because of the deprivation and loss suffered by the Moroccan people and working-class, demanding an end to the situation by implementing a real increase in wages and pensions, ensuring that all workers benefit from their national wealth, and achieving social justice.

The WFTU expresses its full solidarity and support for the united struggle of the Moroccan trade unions against the poverty and the deterioration of living and working conditions.
