Solidarity in the Ryanair Employees’ Strike

PAME, that represents the class unions of Greece, expresses its solidarity with the employees of the multinational Ryanair who are launching strikes in Italy, Spain, Belgium, France and Portugal.

Ryanair employees in Belgium, Spain and Portugal have announced a three-day strike that begins today, Friday, with similar demonstrations in France and Italy over the weekend, with another strike in Spain on June 30 and July 1-2.

All over the world in the last decade workers have experienced a huge attack on their wages, with pay cuts, disenfranchisement, employers’ intimidations. During the pandemic this attack escalated into many industries with thousands of layoffs. Today, with the inflation and cost of living skyrocketing, while business groups are gaining inconceivable wealth, workers are being driven into poverty and misery.

Workers’ struggles for survival, for the rights that have been taken away from us, for work and life are breaking out all over Europe. In these circumstances, the struggle of Ryanair employees is very important and you have our full support.
