The World Federation of Trade Unions on behalf of its 92 million workers in the 5 continents of the globe, expresses its solidarity to the Bitajib’s workers who are in a strike for a week now demanding the prompt payment of their three-months unpaid salaries.

The workers of the company, including engineers, skilled, unskilled and ordinary workers, went on strike, struggling against the payment delays of the Bitajib company which took over the construction work for the jinki road.

The workers face low salaries and delay in the payment of their allowances, while many of the graduates live in unemployment despite the need of the state and the citizens for more services.

We reaffirm our position for public and high quality health services for all the people in Mauritania and we demand the improvement and observation of this crucial sector workers’ working and living conditions.
