Several protests were sparked around the globe following Russia launching a military operation in Ukraine in the early hours of Thursday.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said 137 civilians and military personnel were killed in the country on the first day of Russia’s offensive and introduced martial law in response.
After Russia’s actions, Europe, the US, and the UK strongly condemned and announced sanctions against Russia, targeting several Russian banks, individuals, and bilateral trade.
