The march saw representatives from some 40 environmental organizations, as student unions, and youth movements, brandishing banners calling for the cutting of greenhouse emissions. Among them: Hadash and the Young Communist League, the Society for the Protection of Nature, the Council of Youth Movements, Animals, Ecopeace, Clear, the Heschel Center for Sustainability, the Green Network and Greenpeace.
Ofer Cassif, a member of Knesset for Hadash, attended the march, posting a photo to Twitter alongside Hadash, Communist Party and Young Communist League activists. According to Cassif “the climate crisis is the crisis of capitalism.”
Elad Hochman, CEO of Green Course, told Maariv that “each year our size and power grow. This year, four days before the election and in an unprecedented manner, thousands have attended to demand the parties place environmental and climate issues at the center of the agenda.”
