On Tuesday, February 23, took place the National Strike of Public Hospital Doctors. The strike -which was postponed last week because of extreme weather conditions in Greece- demanded real strengthening of the public health system, against the policy that leaves the people exposed. The doctors and Hospital staff of Athens held a strike protest in the Ministry of Health in Athens. Healthcare workers revealed the false reality that the government is trying to present to hospitals and which is unbearable for patients and healthcare staff. They stressed that the government has not taken any measures to strengthen the public healthcare system, hospitals have become one-disease-centers, while doctors and nurses have become a touring troupe going from one hospital to another, when morbidity and mortality have increased from other diseases.
